I am not teaching you how to fight. I am teaching you how to control evil

I started my martial arts training when I was 8 years old and have earned the respect of some of the greatest martial arts masters in the art. They in turn have granted me the opportunity test and earn black belts in their respective styles. I received my first black belt title in 1995 and became a certified instructor. Ever since then, I have been training and teaching martial arts for some of those great master martial artists. Now I have started my own martial arts program teaching all the martial arts I know includes Karate, Kung-Fu, Taekwondo, Jujitsu, Aikido, Hapkido, Shotokan, and Tai Chi. Each style has taught me two very important skills common in all styles: Self-Defense and Honor. Now I pass all my knowledge onto my students.
Just as a house foundation is properly designed, engineered and constructed, my martial arts foundation is based on the following Master and Grandmasters in their respective arts:
-
Grandmaster Kang Rhee - PaSaRyu
-
Masters - Dave Prayga, Darren Yancey, Jackie Smith, Anthony Slayton, John Blackstone, See Sun Vu, and many others
-
-
Grandmaster William C.C. Chen – Yang Style Tai Chi
-
Master Larry Brown
-
-
Master Gastavo Guillermoni – ATA
-
Master Chad Chilcutt – Jujitsu
-
Shidoin Rob Crowell – Aikido
My chief mentor is Grandmaster Kang Rhee. He taught that a true martial artists is someone who lives a life of integrity, honor, confidence and humility and can pass it onto others. Everyone can kick and punch, move around in some artistic form or another, break boards, memorize a bunch of kicks, katas, and techniques, just like a person who knows their alphabets can read, but do they really comprehend what they read? As a aspiring martial artist do you use your skills to defend those who are weak and different from you or do you use it to bully and hurt them? If life throws you a challenge, do you use your discipline and training to overcome it or do you give up? What kind of martial artist are you?
I teach two very important things.
-
The physical technique with the details so that you can effectively use the skill in real life situations.
-
Principles of Honor necessary to get through all of life's challenges and be a true martial artist.
Learning and executing proper technique builds discipline and discipline in turn helps one succeed in academics and career. Really earning the black belt builds self-esteem and self-esteem in return motivates you to strive for greater honors.
I teach more than physical martial arts, I provide you with a sense of honor through PaSaRyu. The martial arts philosophy one lives with is just as important as the physical movements. A student’s potential is limitless because they are constantly determining who they are and what more they can do regardless of their limitations. A PaSaRyu martial artist is one who has the self-respect to constantly improve oneself, self-discipline to overcome any discouragement, ambition to accomplish all their goals and humility to accept everything life has to offer.
